County Emergency Clinical Hospital of Timisoara (SCJUT) - Romania
The Timisoara Clinical Emergency Hospital is the biggest hospital in the western region of Romania. It is a University Hospital that provide medical services, medical academic education, post-university courses and scientific research.
The District Hospital from Timisoara started its activity in 1974 and it consists of 1.351 beds (715 within the policlinics and 636 within the specific surgical departments) and an effective of 740 physicians (170 university professors and more than 400 residents).
During the last few years the District Hospital has encountered a structural development through the agency of the new Orthopedics Clinics and by building the new traumatological center ?Casa Austria?. This traumatological center corresponds with the international competitive standards regarding the comfort of the patients and the working conditions of the medical personnel that are carrying out their activity here.
The District hospital provides emergency assistance to the county of Timis but also to the rest of the region when problems related to financial or human resources or related to the complexity of the pathology, cannot be solved out in the other district hospitals of the country.
The hospital offers the necessary medical assistance to a number of about 45.000 cases (in-patients) and specialty consultations (out-patients).
The diagnoses based on investigations accomplished within the medical tests laboratories, radiology, and medical imaging, CT, RMN, digestive endoscopy, functional explorations, nuclear medicine, allergology, human genetic, health psychology (without Psychiatry department) leads to the choice of the most efficient methods of treatment.
